Message Sorry if this is pic heavy - hopefully, there's something for everybody here. Talk about a great day! I waited to share these pics due to the time it takes to put a post like this together - enjoy :-)

I wish this guy wasn't blocking my view of the corkscrew!

Nice rims...RPF1's are truly race inspired.

Anybody recognize this character?

Randy Pobst...drives in multiple classes...my hero.

Talk about a race to the finish...team Ferrari and the flying lizard Porsche team battled it out til the very end. Ferrari edged them out for the GT2 class championship. Pics of the red Ferrari to come.

These two GT1 class Corvettes beat the competition so badly coming into Laguna Seca that nobody else even bothered to show up to compete against them. So they just ran against each other - the exhaust note coming from these cars was by far my favorite throughout the day. It was amazing watching both P1 & P2 series prototypes, the GT1 Vettes, and GT2's consisting of Porsche, Ferrari, Viper, & Panoz all run at the same time - weaving in and out of each other, yet racing w/in their respective classes.

These Turbo-Diesal's were impressive - Audi captured the championship w/ them...fastest P1's out there.

Saw quite a few people carrying out pieces of scrap metal, exhaust, aero components, etc. as souvenirs from this wreck.

As night fell, the race action turned even more exciting - watching neon lights and glowing rotors.

Aftermath

Well, I hope you enjoyed my pics, and if you ever have the chance to catch some racing at Laguna Seca and/or watch some P1/P2 & GT2/GT3 racing action in person - I would seize the opportunity...It will be worth it.

Yeeeeehaaaaa!
